Daniel Leigh has extensive experience with large regional real estate firms, particularly with the development of master-planned communities. He has experience with corporate acquisitions and dispositions, land development, home building, and corporate business development activities.

His experience includes:

  • Successful development and construction of numerous new home communities ranging from entry-level to high-end.
  • Marketed over $1 billion of real estate assets.
  • Managed, built and sold lots in commercial and industrial business parks; negotiated transactions with tenants such as Price Club, Kmart and Home Depot.
  • Interaction with various regulated and non-regulated financial entities.
  • Distributed over 150 million in profits from 1997 until current.
  • Guest speaker for various industry seminars related to the California real estate and financial markets.

Self-Storage:
Corman Leigh has extensive experience in the self-storage arena. Corman Leigh has purchased and operated existing self-storage facilities, rehabbed outdated and underutilized facilities and ultimately sold self-storage facilities. In addition, Corman Leigh has purchased and entitled raw land for self-storage facilities and built new ground up facilities. Corman Leigh has significant operating experience with a track record of success. Corman Leigh has developed more than a dozen self-storage facilities as well as acting as the in-house manager of these facilities. Corman Leigh currently has 2 self-storage facilities in various stages of development and sold an additional 2 facilities to national self-storage organizations in the 2021 calendar year.

Mr. Leigh has been actively involved with the Building Industry Association for many years. He has served as the treasurer, Vice President of Community Affairs, First Vice President and the Riverside County BIA President for 1999. He has served as Secretary/Treasurer for BIA of Southern California and will be President of BIA of Southern California in 2007. He has served numerous years as a Political Action Committee Trustee for BIASC and CBIA. He is a Board of Director for both BIA of Southern California and CBIA. Mr. Leigh has been extremely active in a number of other professional, civic and community organizations such as Home Aid, Olive Crest, Habitat for Humanity, American Youth Soccer Organization, and the Southwest Detention Center. The Riverside County Chapter of the Building Industry Association honored him with the 1997 Community Service Award presented for his extensive charitable work. He has served as Vice Chairman of the Lincoln Club of Riverside and Secretary/Treasurer of Home Aid Inland Empire. Mr. Leigh was granted a State of California Senate Resolution commending him for his community service.

He has served on both the production builders committee and business management committee for the National Association of Home Builders. He is currently a member of the National Association of Homebuilders, Building Industry of Southern California, Home Aid America and the Lincoln Club. Additionally, Mr. Leigh is a Trustee for both the California Building Industry Association and the Building Industry Association of Southern California Political Action Committees. He has received such prestigious industry awards as the Builder of the Year (Riverside County), Gold Nugget Merit Award, Spike Award and numerous Laurel Awards.

Daniel Leigh graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science and an MBA in real estate and finance from San Diego State University.

Rick Scott

RICK SCOTT

Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
More than 35 years experience

Rick Scott has more than 35 years of experience in real estate development, with proven expertise in management, acquisition forward planning, project management, and project feasibility analysis. His experience includes over 12 years of leading real estate development teams in the planning and implementation of land development and home building. He is currently responsible for project and asset performance, all personnel and operations at Corman Leigh Companies. Rick has been directly responsible for the development of over 10,000 “for-sale” residential units of various types plus an additional 2,000 “for-lease” units.

  • Over the last 19 years, Rick Scott has held various senior management positions with several West Coast builders: AVCO Community Developers, McMillin Companies, Sandling Companies (Executive Vice President) and Buie Communities.
  • Skilled in acquiring and developing business opportunities, negotiating deal structures, devising development strategies, acquisition and forward planning for commercial projects.
  • Experienced in the management and development of affordable housing.
  • Affiliations include Member of BIA, past director of the North County San Diego BIA chapter, Urban Land Institute, and Board of Directors for HomeAid, Riverside County.

Mr. Scott graduated from Ohio State University with a BS in Resource Development with an emphasis in planning and economics.

Jon Thingvold

JON THINGVOLD

Finance Accounting Tax Management
More than 30 years experience

With more than 30 years of applied accounting experience with large and small southern California builders, Jon Thingvold brings both perspective and foresight to the Corman Leigh Companies team. His background includes positions with home builders whose annual revenues exceed $50 million. Mr. Thingvold is seasoned in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting and is adept in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, analysis for investors, facilitation of audits and government reporting.

Integrity is the cornerstone of Mr. Thingvold’s work ethic and his commitment to accuracy is reflected in all aspects of his work and throughout the staff he manages.

Mr. Thingvold holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana State University.

John Boggs

JOHN BOGGS

Vice President of Construction
More than 35 years experience

For more than 35 years, John Boggs has been developing industrial and residential properties in no fewer than 15 states. His expertise includes project feasibility, approvals, forward planning, design, obtaining permits, purchasing and overall construction operations.

From complex environmental issues to cost saving construction techniques, Mr. Boggs brings a wealth of building acumen and understanding to the Corman Leigh Companies team.

Mr. Boggs started his distinguished career in construction with a hammer in his hand as a carpenter’s apprentice. Drawing from a strong work ethic and disciplined character, a by-product of his service in our nation’s military, his passion for the building industry resulted in rapid promotions. He was soon pursuing entitlements and, not long after, was promoted to Regional Construction Manager for a large builder in Southern California where he supervised the construction of 3,000 units. Because of Mr. Boggs’ “ground up” experience, he possesses invaluable insight regarding all phases of development and construction.

Some of Mr. Boggs’ accomplishments include:

  • Successfully administered a $6,000,000 private assessment district for infrastructure on a 600-acre mixed-use development project.
  • Initiated complex environmental processing for a 250-acre development with the US Army Corps of Engineers and California Dept. of Fish and Game for the mitigation of wetlands and endangered species.
  • Developed a construction sequencing method capable of producing individually customized homes with varying floor plans while achieving delivery schedules similar to production-based tract homes.

Mr. Boggs is a proud member of the American Legion, the International Code Council and holds a California State Contractor’s License.

Wayne Dollarhide

FRANK (WAYNE) DOLLARHIDE

Has thirty-five years of strong and diverse experience in the field of construction. During his career, Wayne completed over 1,860,310 s.f. of building projects throughout Southern California. He has extensive knowledge of residential construction techniques in Estate Homes, Production Housing, Multi-Family Housing, apartments on podium, mixed retail use, high volume production and budget maintenance. Dollarhide is experienced with developing a project from raw land to the completion of all on and off-site tasks. He has a vast knowledge of budgeting, managing, customer service skills, computer skills, Procore, Primavera P3, SureTrak, Meridian’s Prolog Manager, and Microsoft Office. He has been recognized in the industry through letters of commendation and awards. He has also worked the infrastructures for City officials in CFD districts.

Jennifer Berghius

JENIFER BERGHUIS

Corporate Controller
More than 25 years experience

Jenifer Berghuis has more than 25 years of experience as a Senior Accountant in and outside the building industry. She joined Corman Leigh Companies in 2005.

Some of Mrs. Berghuis duties include:

  • Reporting and preparing financial statements, budgets, cash flows, partner and lender reporting along with many other various accounting duties.
  • She prides herself with having honesty, accuracy and integrity as some of her outstanding qualities.

Mrs. Berghuis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting from California State University Fullerton.
